About WikiHidden

Know what's real, what's fake, and what's happening on the hidden web.

WikiHidden is a directory and intelligence database of publicly documented services and entities on the hidden web. For each one it tries to answer five questions quickly: what is it, is it still around, how recently was it observed, are there fake versions of it, and what independent evidence supports any of that.

It is built for security researchers, journalists, trust-and-safety teams and anyone who needs to understand this space without taking a stranger's list on faith.

What it does

  • Documents entities with neutral descriptions, histories and references to independent reporting.
  • Lists the official website and onion address of legitimate services, each with the source it came from.
  • Records availability as dated observations, with the source of each.
  • Assesses identity confidence separately, and shows the reasoning.
  • Tracks confirmed impersonation: phishing clones, fake mirrors, lookalike identities and exit scams.

What it deliberately does not do

  • It does not publish addresses for threat actors, marketplaces, seized services or scam operations, and never publishes lookalike addresses.
  • It does not facilitate purchases, transactions or contact with any service.
  • It does not carry advertising or accept payment for listings, placement or status.
  • It does not label anything verified, official or a scam on the strength of a single signal.

Entities associated with illegal activity appear only as informational profiles — status, history, takedowns and impersonation warnings — because that record has research and safety value. A listing is neither an endorsement nor an accusation.

Corrections

If a profile is wrong, out of date, or missing a source, say so. Corrections are reviewed by a person and the change is recorded in the entity's history. Operators of legitimate services documented here can also ask for a profile, or an address, to be corrected or removed.

A public contact address for corrections will be listed here.

Method

The rules the site applies are written down in How we assess and Status definitions.
